Water Line Flushing May 1, 2018

Post date: Apr 30, 2018 10:25:05 PM

WATER LINE FLUSHING IS NOW COMPLETE, YOU MAY RESUME NORMAL WATER ACTIVITIES!!

Starting the morning of May 1, 2018 the maintenance men will be doing Spring flushing of the water lines and hydrants. The flushing may happen over a period of 2 or 3 days, dependent on other maintenance issues that arise and interrupt the flushing. We will update the website and Facebook page when flushing is complete.

The Village of Lebret has a complex network of water lines in the Village. Water lines are flushed to ensure the highest quality water possible to our residents and to maintain the integrity of the water system.

During the flush, residents may notice low water pressure or your water may appear reddish, yellow or brown in color. Do not be alarmed.

It is recommended you do not use the water or do laundry while flushing is taking place in your area, and that you shut off all time delayed water line appliances during the flushing period. If you have water-conditioning systems such as a water softener or filtration systems, it is recommended that you shut off the water supply valve to these systems until flushing is completed. Please fill up water jugs for drinking water and a bathtub for flushing toilets prior to flushing. After flushing is completed, run your cold water faucets for 5 to 10 minutes to make sure the water is clear; at which time you may resume normal water use. If the water does not clear after one hour, please notify the office at 306-332-6545.

Thank you for your cooperation during this period.
